See the Conflicts Before They Become Field Problems

On complex projects — especially high-rise curtain wall, multi-system facades, and projects with tight tolerances between trades — 2D drawings alone aren't enough. You need a 3D model that shows exactly how your glazing system interacts with the structure, MEP, and every other trade in the building envelope.

Matic Drafting builds 3D coordination models for glazing contractors who need to participate in BIM workflows, identify clashes early, and communicate clearly with the project team. Whether the GC requires a Revit model for Navisworks coordination or you need a 3D model to validate a tricky condition before fabrication, we handle it.

Our models aren't just pretty geometry. They're built with the real profile dimensions, anchor locations, and clearance requirements of the actual glazing system being installed — which means the clash detection results are meaningful and the coordination conversations are productive.

What We Deliver

When You Need BIM on a Glazing Project

GC-Required BIM Coordination

Many GCs now require subcontractors to submit Revit models for Navisworks coordination sessions. We build your glazing model to participate in the process.

Complex Facade Conditions

Multi-plane facades, acute corner conditions, sloped glazing, and transitions between systems — 3D models validate these conditions before they go to the shop.

Clash Detection with MEP

HVAC, fire suppression, and electrical runs through the curtain wall zone are a common source of field conflicts. 3D coordination catches these in the office, not on the scaffold.

Design-Assist Visualization

During design-assist phases, 3D models help architects and owners understand the proposed glazing system. Renders and virtual mock-ups communicate what 2D details can't.

How BIM Coordination Works With Us

Model setup. We build the glazing model based on your approved shop drawings and system profiles. The model is georeferenced to the project coordinate system and linked to the structural model for accurate positioning.

Coordination rounds. We participate in BIM coordination meetings with the GC and other trades. When clashes are identified, we document them, propose solutions, and update the model accordingly. This typically runs through multiple rounds as the project progresses from submittal through fabrication.

Model maintenance. As revisions happen — and they always do — we keep the 3D model updated in sync with the 2D shop drawings. The model is never a snapshot of an old version; it reflects the current state of the project.

Handoff. Final models are delivered in the format the GC requires — typically RVT, NWC, or IFC. We can also export to other formats as needed for your internal workflows.
